Rank’s “denial” is part of Wayseer psychology

“there is no other equality possible than the equal right of every individual to become and be himself, which actually means to accept his own difference and have it accepted by others.”

“Instead of the term repression, which laid stress on the burying of past painful experiences within the unconscious, Rank preferred to use the term denial, a neurotic clinging to the past, in order to protect the person from truly experiencing the present.” ~ Gregory Mitchell

I see repression and denial as different defenses experienced by different kinds of consciousness. Wayseers (which both Rank and most of his patients were) exhibit denial as a coping strategy BECAUSE, unlike most people, they have very little neurological repression to protect themselves from creative opportunities evoking SEPARATION TRAUMA.

The vast majority of people (which I call Stabilizers) rarely experience this creative anxiety due to separation trauma because their prefrontal cortex is hard-wired to repress these things. So they wouldn’t exhibit as much of what Rank defines as denial, instead they …

Garret’s Answer: Thanks for reaching out. With regards to the “10%”… In nature, what is the ideal mutation rate for natural selection to work and evolution to progress? If it were 100%, then devolution would occur – entire populations of organisms would go into chaotic mutation one generation. Even 50% might be much too much. 10-20% mutation rate might be ideal for there to be fundamental stability with each generation, while 10-20% of that population mutates allowing for new …

and it probably turned out to be the best thing that happened to me because
I finally was able to figure out what was “wrong” with me (ADHD, etc). I did
some traveling, read a lot, and figured out how to my adjust sleep. I did a

Lyrics:
This is your calling Wayseer
You’ve found your tribe
Welcome home…
Welcome home to a family of 7 billion souls – struggling to survive
Welcome home to a planet in desperate need – a tiny dot of life – hurling through the outer reaches of space alone
Welcome home to your generations calling – to heal this world

Society is sick but you have a unique capacity to change things
because your awakened mind can replace the thousand dysfunctional rules of society
with just three simple guidelines
Turn on. Tune in. and Drop Out.
Each of these sacraments builds on the next… First you must…

Turn on – to what you are.
You’re wild and intuitive and you take it too far. Your ability to see out of the cage.
Lets you take us all – to the next stage.
Doesn’t matter – what the experts claim -
You got the vision that’ll change the game
Now you know what you came here for.
You got the keys to …

Your darkest hour may be the moment you make your greatest contribution, for then you are in the crucible where miracles are born.
When times are hard you might relate to Robert L. May’s tragic and inspiring true story of the making of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. Many people are overjoyed when they hear this story, and surprised they’d never heard it before…

Right in the midst of the Great Depression, Bob struggled to keep it together through Christmastime. His wife was dying of cancer, the medical bills were piling up and his 4 year old daughter was depending on him to be strong. Brokenhearted, desperate and overwhelmed with medical expenses, Bob was given the job to write an uplifting children’s “animal story” for a department store called Montgomery Ward. This was to be a Christmas promotional coloring book.

How do you write a jubilant children’s story when your heart is breaking and your life is collapsing?

Bob didn’t have the luxury of failing, so he focused on the two things that brought him strength …

Garret’s Answer: I totally “get” what you’re saying. You are spot on. The best way to help people find the Way is to become a living, breathing expression of the Way. When your thoughts are guided by the Way you will spontaneously say and do the most surprisingly wonderful and miraculous things for people. Simple things that, because they are so perfect, so insightful, so impossibly knowing, will astonish and intrigue whomever you are with.
Wayseers have very low tolerances for boredom. We are sensation seekers. We crave action and excitement. In fact we don’t just crave action … we need it.

So if Madame de Staël is right – and I believe she is – our Wayseer temperaments, which drive us to avoid boredom at all costs, also drive us straight into suffering. We suffer because we can’t stand to be bored.…

This week, on the eve of 11/1/11, we reached 7 billion human souls living on this planet. Approximately 700 Million of those souls are Wayseers – like you. 700 Million Wayseers worldwide, here to resurrect what society denied.

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
~ Albert Einstein

I offer you 3 simple prerogatives to replace the thousand rules of society …

Turn on. Turn on to what you are. As a Wayseer, you are one of the most inspired souls on the planet. You have so little neurological repression, your mind is wide open to strokes of genius. You won’t “fit in” to societal norms, because you’re not normal. You’re a natural born pioneer. Own it.

Tune in. Tune in to transcendent love, to God, to the truth, to the immaculate organizing intelligence of life – to the Way. It doesn’t matter what you call it. It just matters …

Q:Garret thanks for your site. I have just looked on the Internet at drd4r for the first time and am excited that my brain makes sense now and the answer to my issue is dopamine. I am not ADHD, I am hypomanic. Was wondering if you could direct me to any articles on the difference between drd4r, and drd4 with C allele for hypomania. I have not read your book yet but after thousands of sleepless nights have to agree that the only way I can control myself living with this bizarre chemical cocktail is to make every moment about love. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

My Answer: I wouldn’t worry much about the DRD4 allele specifics as of yet, because there are some very immediate and powerful psychological and lifestyle extrapolations we’ve already made in the book which are just plain helpful and practical for someone who is hypo-manic. Once you’ve benefited from that “low hanging fruit” then you might find digging deeper into the genetics to be an added benefit.
