Q: As I have found myself becoming more connected with The Way I feel I am beginning to notice how people who are in tune with The Way are not hard to recognize. I’m not sure how possible this is, but I feel like I am beginning to see the relations between other people and The Way. I encounter a lot of people who seem to be wayseers, but have not yet awakened to The Way. Is there any way to aid these future wayseers in finding The Way? What would be the best approach?
Garret’s Answer: Thanks for reaching out. With regards to the “10%”… In nature, what is the ideal mutation rate for natural selection to work and evolution to progress? If it were 100%, then devolution would occur – entire populations of organisms would go into chaotic mutation one generation. Even 50% might be much too much. 10-20% mutation rate might be ideal for there to be fundamental stability with each generation, while 10-20% of that population mutates allowing for new …

I think that this gene can definitely be very useful to have. It’s probably played an important role in humanity’s survival. It causes problems for some people today, but only because they’re trying too hard to live like their more boring, even tempered counterparts.
They need to get in touch with their instincts, and start living the creative, active, independent lifestyle they’re genetically programmed to.
I have figured out how to do this since finishing high school, I had to forget some of the learning methods that I was taught and completely reinvent the way I learn. I had to discover my own unique learning style and how to effectively follow my passions. I’ve reconnected with my creativity and passion and I’ve slowly developed keen instincts that almost never fail me.
I am now attending college, going in the direction I feel like. I now have a sense of control over my future, as well as the present.
But I didn’t get where I am over night. It took trial and error, plenty of mistakes and lots of suffering. There were moments when I wanted to give up, but I kept going, sometimes blindly, having faith that things will turn around, and they did.
So the moral of the story is to NEVER GIVE UP in your quest for happiness and fulfillment. And to always follow your heart and your passions.
